2.    Own Choice pieces may not be repeated within 5 years; please note that this rule prevents the performance of any item more that once in this Festival.

3.    An extra copy of Own Choice music must be supplied to the Adjudicator.

2012   FESTIVAL SUMMER SCHOOL BURSARY INFORMATION

As part of our continuing support for young performers, we are delighted to offer bursaries towards the cost of a Residential Summer School in the Music discipline. This bursary will be for competitors in the Junior section of the festival.

The bursary will have a value of approximately 2/3rds of the Residential Summer School fee and a contribution towards travelling expenses may also be considered.

Applicants must be within the age range stated for each Summer School and whilst all candidates would be expected to be of a good all-round standard, the successful applicants will not necessarily be first place prize winners.

To be considered for a bursary, a candidate must have entered and competed in at least one Music class in the IWMCF in 2012 and must complete this application form and return it to the secretary by 31st January 2012.

Following the completion of the festival, a specially selected panel will meet to consider each applicant alongside their festival performance(s) and the adjudicators’ comments. A final short list will be presented to the Executive Committee of the IWMCF, who will make the final selection for the bursary in 2012. No young person may be related to a member of the special selection panel.
